Airless tires might play a giant half in our way forward for transportation.
Hankook
Hankook has an eye fixed on the long run, and it like so many different firms, believes the long run tire is totally airless. Finally week’s CES 2022, the corporate revealed its future airless tire idea known as the i-Flex. The tire debuted alongside Hyundai Motor’s Plug & Drive module, which the Korean firm fitted to its futuristic pod.
The tire contains a biometric-inspired design, with multilayer interlocking “spokes” to soak up bumps, imperfections and to help stability. Like every airless tire idea, there is no probability of a blowout, no tire stress upkeep and appears so wild in comparison with the tires rolling on each single automobile in manufacturing right this moment.
This explicit tire is not precisely prepared for a mass market automobile, although. It solely measures 10 inches because it was a part of Hyundai’s little pod automobile proven at CES 2022. That is to not say we can’t ever see Hankook develop an airless tire with inspiration from the i-Flex. The corporate mentioned it would proceed designing future tire ideas within the hope sooner or later, the airless tire is able to roll. However, Michelin might beat it to the punch. The tire maker alongside Basic Motors hope to have production-ready airless tires come 2024.
