Britain scrambled fighter jets on Wednesday after detecting unidentified plane approaching its airspace, the defence ministry mentioned.
“Fast response alert Hurricane fighters from RAF Lossiemouth, supported by a vogayer tanker from RAF Brieze Norton, have been launched in opposition to unidentified plane approaching the UK space of curiosity,” a Ministry of Defence spokesman mentioned.
“We is not going to offer any further element on this ongoing operation till full.”
Sky Information reported that the plane had been detected north of Scotland. The BBC added that such incidents, often known as fast response alerts, weren’t unusual and contain Royal Air Power (RAF) crews shadowing Russian navy plane close to UK airspace.
